Under-fire Ashgold coach Bashir Hayford says he is ready to take charge of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Hayford is coming off a turbulent season with Ashgold which saw the club fail to retain the Ghana Premier League title amid calls for his head from fans.
However, he insists that he is qualified for the job and will continue to tender in his application any time it becomes vacant.
“I have been unsuccessful in the past when the opportunity has come up,” Hayford said in an interview on Citi FM.
“A window has not presented itself since then, but if the chance comes up again, I will apply. I am a Ghanaian and if coaches are being sought after and I feel I have the requisite knowledge why won’t I put my name forward?.
“If I am a carpenter and carpenters are needed for a job I will apply for that job.”
The Black Stars job will be available after the 2016 AFCON in January when the contract of current gaffer Avram Grant will come to an end.
