Ghana Football Association Chief Kwesi Nyantakyi says though he is not God, the team loses when he is around.
“With the Egypt game I was not around. I’m not God, but when I’m around we hardly lose. Before the game, I had a premonition that we were going to win the game. The feeling was so strong that it gave me some level of optimism against the DR Congo”, Nyantakyi said in an interview with Asempa FM.
“Sometimes in football you don’t win when you play well. Against Egypt, we played well but lost. As a team, we were better against DR Congo. I’m happy as a Ghanaian we made it to the semis.
“Getting to the semis is not an achievement for Ghana. We have consistently gotten to the last four since 2008, so this is not a feat as regards Ghana’s standards”, he continued.
Nyantakyi also prevailed on Ghanaians to appreciate the efforts of the players.
Ghana defeated DR Congo by two goals to one, with the Ayew brothers, Dede and Jordan getting the goals for Ghana.
Ghana will be meeting Cameroon at the semifinals on Thursday 2nd February 2017.
