Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has vowed to recapture his number one goalkeeping position from Razak Braimah.
The Ashanti Gold SC goalkeeper shot to fame at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he captured the number one goalkeeping spot from Adam Kwarasey and continued till the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
However, the 30-year-old lost his starting role to Cordoba CF custodian, Braimah, at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
“The number one position is no one’s permanent position [and] with hard work I can still become number one,” he told Starr Sports.
“If you want to be a great goalkeeper, you need to learn a lot. If you are there, don’t think you have finished. So far as you are still in the game, there could be mistakes or ups and downs, that’s where you need to be strong. Now Razak is playing and we are winning,” he added.
Dauda had a failed stint in South Africa and later returned home to help win the Ghana Premier League with Ashanti Gold.
