Former Plymouth Argyle loanee Hiram Boateng has once again gone out on loan, this time to League One side Bristol Rovers.
The 20-year-old impressed during his initial loan with the Pilgrims last season, and after a brief stint back at his parent club Crystal Palace, Boateng arrived back for the final couple of months of the campaign.
He also made an appearance in the Premier League in between his two spells at Home Park.
Boateng formed a good relationship with Argyle’s two central defenders (Curtis Nelson and Peter Hartley) during the loan deal.
And now he has the chance to develop that relationship with Hartley further, as he also plays for Rovers.
Rovers manager Darrell Clarke said of his latest signing: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Hiram to Bristol Rovers and wish him every success while he is with us.
“I would like to thank the club’s owner and directors for making this signing possible and to thank Crystal Palace for allowing Hiram to move to The Memorial Stadium.
“The closing of the transfer window later today will see many clubs rushing to complete their business by 11.00pm, so I am pleased that, with everyone’s help, we have managed to make this signing well before the cut off point.
“The addition of Hiram will add competition for places within the squad, and I think there will be a beneficial effect for all concerned.
“I’m sure that our supporters will welcome Hiram to The Mem, and I’m certain they will be looking forward to seeing him wearing the blue and white quarters.”
