Accra Hearts of Oak have denied making an approach to sign Ivorian-born Burkina Faso striker Ahmed Toure from Bechem United.
Toure claimed in a radio interview Tuesday that he is close to joining the Phobians for the second half of the 2016/17 season after sealing personal terms. He further added that what was left was transfer negotiations to be sealed between his club and Hearts.
But the Phobians seem oblivious of the former Kotoko striker’s claims.
“Officially, as far as we [management] are concerned there’s nothing like that. Our coach [Frank Nuttall] has not even made a request for new additions to the squad yet. Until such comes up, we are not in the market for any player,” Hearts spokesperson Opare Addo told starrsportsgh.com.
Few years ago, Toure came close to joining Hearts but controversially ditched them for a return to rivals Asante Kotoko days after scoring on his debut in a pre-season tournament.
Ahmed Toure is less than a year into his contract with Bechem United and has scored five goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
