Players of premier league outfit Accra Hearts of Oak did not turn up for this morning’s training session due to the fact that they have not been paid for five months.
As a result, supporters of the club have called on the majority shareholder Togbe Afede, Managing Director Vincent Sowah Odotei and Alhaji Akanbi to step aside.
“Togbe Afede, Vincent Sowah Odotei and Akanbi must step aside. They should go away. They are destroying the team. We will pay Togbe all his money. He should go and do his business. We don’t want to see them anywhere near the team again”, one of the angry supporters said in an interview with Asempa FM.
The Ghana premier league will commence this weekend, with some pundits asking how Hearts of Oak are going to find the serenity to play this weekend.
The accountant of the club, Hackman Aidoo says the club owes the players for only three months.
According to him, management is yet to be informed as to the reason why the players did not turn up for training.
