Communications Director of Hearts of Oak Kwame Opare Addo quashed reports of his outfit filing for protest against Techiman Eleven Wonders’ striker Alex Asamoah.
The Phobians were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Premier League newcomers Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nana Ameyaw Park in the league opened on Sunday.
Hearts got their noses in front after just eight minutes on the clock via Winful Cobbina’s penalty before Alex Asamoah snatched a point for the hosts four minutes into the second half.
In the wake of the match, reports went rife that the Rainbow Club have filed for a protest against their opponents for fielding an unqualified player in the person of Alex Asamoah.
However, the club’s scribe Opare Addo has vehemently debunked the claims insisting that it should be treated as a rumour.
“Hearts of Oak have not written any protest against Techiman XI Wonders for fielding an unqualified player in the person of Alex Asamoah,” Opare told ASEDA FM.
“We treat the story as rumours.
We have not taken any decision to protest.”
Hearts of Oak meanwhile, will welcome AshantiGold to their adopted home venue in Cape Coast on Sunday, March 25, in Week Two of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
