Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan says he is targeting his third top scorer award in the Arabian Gulf League.
Gyan believes his return to form since he switched from Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League to Al Ahli will see him achieve his target.
Gyan has scored five times in six matches in all competitions for his loan club Al Ahli, prompting the club to make moves towards making the deal permanent.
Gyan, 30, won the top scorer award twice in his previous stint between 2012-15 with Al Ain.
“For now I am doing well for my club, I have been able to score a couple of goals for them,” Gyan said in an interview on Hot FM.
“I just hope I maintain my form. It is not going to be easy, but I hope to win the goal king title at the end of the season. There are some good players in the League as well so is not going to be easy, but I hope I win it.”
Former Sunderland striker, Gyan, has scored twice in four games for Al Ahli and trailing the leading scorers’ chart behind Ali Ahmed Mabkhout of Al Jazira who has five goals.
