Ofori, 22, is said to be close to joining the Brazilians, who already have keepers Denis Onyango, Wayne Sandilands and Kennedy Mweene on their books
Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly set to complete the signing of WA All Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
The Ghana international has been linked with the Brazilians since he represented his country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Gabon last month.
According to Ghanasoccernet.com the promising shot-stopper will sign a long term deal with Sundowns after arriving in South Africa on Friday.
“The Ghana Premier League winner with WA All Stars will sign a three-year deal with the Brazilians.”
“The highly-rated glovesman has agreed a deal with the African champions and will put pen-to-paper on a long term deal.
“The 22-year-old impressed during a trial session at the club after the end of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
“Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is convinced about the qualities of the Ghanaian international and feels that he (Ofori) will provide better competition to Ugandan Denis Onyango,” a statement read on the Ghanaian website.
Sundowns currently have Brazilian Ricardo Nascimento, Algerian Fares Hachi, Colombian Leonardo Castro and Ivorians Yannick Zakri and Soumahoro Bangaly registered on their foreign quota.
