New York Red Bulls defender Gideon Baah is saddened by his injury-plagued debut season in Major League Soccer.
The 25-year-old joined the American outfit in February, but was restricted to just four league appearances in the recent-past season due to an unfortunate injury.
He has been on the sidelines since June.
“My career has suffered a major setback. It hasn’t been easy, lots of surgeries and all that,” Baah told Starr FM.
“I think my last injury has been a real setback for me considering the fact that I was on a good run.
“I was in the bright start of my career and was in the best form of my life but for me, I felt it’s a learning curve and I always learn from it.
“I am still under rehab and hope to return very soon. I have to recuperate really well and comeback stronger next season and do my best for the club.
“It hasn’t been easy, I was hoping to thrive in the MLS in my first season but unfortunately the injury came in.”
Baah joined Finish side Honka FC from local giants Asante Kotoko in 2013, before transferring to HJK Helsinki, from where he joined Red Bulls.
He has made one appearance for Ghana at senior level.
