Ghanaian midfielder Benjamin Asamoah scores for Doxa as they were held to a 2-2 stalemate against Paphos in the first leg of the Cypriot Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday evening.
The eventful match at the Pafiako Stadium failed to produce any goal up until injury time of the first half when Cypriot midfielder Vasilios Papafotis rose highest to head home to hand Doxa the lead before going to recess.
The visitors came back strongly in the second half and deservedly levelled the score line through Kevin Berigaud in the 54th minute of the match but Benjamin Asamoah restored Doxa’s advantage with 15 minutes left on the clock from the edge of the area.
However, with the game set to finish 2-1 in favour of Doxa, Rafael Yiangoudakis struck in the 94th minute for Paphos to end the match 2-2 apiece.
