Ghanaian attacker Osei Barnes registered his name on the score sheet for Arouca FC in their 2-0 win over Sporting Lisbon B in the Portuguese Segunda division on Saturday afternoon.
Arouca, who are flying aloft of the league standings, needed to win against Sporting to keep up with their four-game winning streak as they look to pick of the two automatic qualification tickets at the end of the campaign.
The Arouquenses shot into the lead in the 24th minute after Osei Barnes headed home from close range.
Portuguese midfielder Nuno Miguel Prata Coelho ensured Arouca left the Estadio Academica Sporting with the maximum points when he superbly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic in the 96th minute.
