Citi Sports sources can confirm that former Japanese American trainer of Hearts of Oak Kenichi Yatsuhashi is ready to make a sensational return to the Ghana Premier League ahead of the upcoming season.
A disagreement with the management of Hearts of Oak over a twenty five day leave of absence to attend a UEFA Pro Licence course resulted in his departure from the club on June 20,2016.
His eight month stay at the club was dogged with reports of consistent clashes he had with management over various issues including transfer deals.
Something he denied strongly shortly after his departure from the job.
“Majority are just false accusations and baseless rumours. I walked out of a meeting once in the first week in April. That is a fact. Other than that I never walked out again, never broke furniture and never slammed a door. Those accusations are false. I respect everyone as much as they respect me”, he claimed.
Despite the skepticism that surrounded his hiring at the time he managed to carve a place in the hearts of the fans of the club that happened to be his first professional coaching job.
His fitness methods especially became renowned, with his Hearts of Oak side outplaying most opponents in the final phase of matches.
In sixteen matches played in all competitions he managed to win eight, drew 5 and lost 3 while maintaining an unbeaten away record.
A number of clubs have parted ways with their managers following the season’s end and are seeking to fill the spot.
Citi Sports sources reveal that clubs including Asante Kotoko who are set to have a crunch meeting with their owner and life Patron Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to restructure the board and management are interested in bring in Yatsuhashi to replace interim boss Michael Osei.
Tarkwa based Medeama Sporting Club are also said to be working frantically in the background to secure the services of the Japanese America following the departure of Prince Owusu.
Big spending Dormaa based Aduana Stars are also believed to be interested in bringing in Kenichi to replace their departed Romanian manager Ciaoba Aristica.
