Ghana international Emmanuel Frimpong’s future is still hanging by a thread after failing to agree a move to Austrian side Sturm Graz last week.
The 22-year-old midfielder has remained a free agent since being released by Barnsley at the end of last season after being relegated.
Frimpong was willing to play his football outside England and has spent the last few weeks training with Sturm Graz, but the deal fell through and has been linked to Olympiakos, Genoa and other clubs.
The holding midfielder has returned home to London after failing to secure the Sturm Graz deal. Frimpong’s agent Eddie Duah confirmed to Sports 72: “Unfortunately, we were unable to agree terms with Graz.
“Emmanuel was very much up for the deal, but is now eager to secure a move and we are now considering a number of options for him.”
He added: “He is fully fit and raring to go, and has been training hard all summer.”
The Ghanaian is a product of Arsenal.
