Ghana dropped one place in the latest edition of the Coca/Cola FIFA ranking.
The Black Stars are now rated the 54th best team in the World having previously occupied the 53rd position.
Coach Avram Grant’s side are still ranked ninth on the African continent.
Senegal who ended the year as the top ranked team in Africa still occupies the top spot and 33rd in the World followed by the Ivory Coast who are 34th in the World.
Ghana’s Group D opponent Egypt are ranked 3rd and 35th and Africa and World respectively.
Tunisia, Algeria, DR Congo, Nigeria and Burkina Faso follow in that particular order.
The Black Stars will be hoping to improve on their ranking next month by putting up a strong performance at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Meanwhile Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium are still the top five best teams in the World.
