Astute football administrator Kudjoe Fianoo has affirmed that he will vacate his position as chief executive officer of AshantiGold SC on February 28, 2018.
Fianoo joined the Miners in 2005 before guiding them to end their 19-year league title drought in the 2014/15 season.
The shrewd administrator’s tenure as the Obuasi-based CEO will come to an end on February 28, following their takeover by new investors.
“Tomorrow [February 28th] will be my last day as Ashanti Gold CEO,”Fianoo told Asempa FM.
“I have done what i have to do as CEO of the club and i’m leaving the club on a good note. There is no bad blood between myself and the club.
“Ashanti Gold have done a lot for me, if i’m to enjoy my SNNIT benefit now, it means Ashanti Gold have played a role in it.”
He added, “For the first time my family has backed me 100% with respect to my decision, so i won’t be Ashanti Gold CEO from tomorrow, the club will forever remain in my heart.”
AshantiGold will engage Wa All Stars at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, March 4, in the first match of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season.
