Members of the football fraternity in Ghana have eulogized late legendary Coach Samuel Hemans Arday who was laid to rest on Friday April 7 after his final burial service at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
STEPHEN APPIAH
Former Black Stars Captain
I remember when we came with the cup when we won and came to Ghana and there was this reception at the Accra Sports Stadium and when he was given his speech he said there was a guy who didn’t get the chance to play a lot of games but Ghana should watch out for this guy he is going to be a great player in the future and I mean with God it happens. Everything I met him I kept reminding him. I hope he is going to rest in the bosom of the lord.
DAVID DUNCAN
Former Ghana U-23 Coach
After school I went to Olympics and I encountered him there as an opponent to Olympics. Every time we played he encouraged me to continue to do my best because I was close to being a player of the year, eventually I entered the Black Stars and More or less he has ever been an inspiration to me.
FRANK NELSON
Board Member of Hearts of Oak
We always remember him as the multi-system and this has been the greatest hall mark. He is a fine gentleman, a perfect character and I have never ever heard someone say he is fighting with Coach Ardey since I began my race in football. Ardey is model you can always use to demonstrate peace, love and everything.
OTI AKENTENG
Technical Director GFA
The man had everything for me he took time to nurture me and I can say he made me what I am. When I was leaving for Gabon when CAF Invited me as the Technical and Development study group member he had to sit down, coach me in so many things before getting to Gabon. When I was in Gabon I heard he was not feeling well so immediately I came, the day I had to go and visit him we heard this problem.
SELLAS TETTEH
Coached Ghana’s U-20 to win the World Cup
We have lost a hero and when the God Lord says no nobody can do anything. Almost 90% of the coaches have gone through his hands including the time he was a coach at Fayernord. It is always good to have a mentor who understands the game and loves the game
