A member of The Ghana Football Association Executive Committee, Kojo Yankah has descended heavily on the Ghana government’s representative on the Black Stars coach search committee, Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, describing him as not qualified enough.
According to Yankah, the government must as a matter of urgency withdraw the former University of Ghana Sports Director from the Black Stars coaching search committee because he has acted “childishly” by letting known his preference of a new Black Stars coach.
Dr Owusu Ansah was appointed as the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ as a representative to serve on the Committee mandated to search for the new coach for the Black stars
And speaking to journalists after his appointment, Owusu Ansah, an advisor to the ministry revealed that his outfit prefers a local man for the job.
But this stance, Kojo Yankah, chairman of the Western Regional Football Association, believes is unacceptable.
“It is wrong for him (Dr Owusu Ansah) to say these things in public and excuse me to say he acted childishly”, Kojo Yankah told Aseda FM
“Once you are on the committee, he should have waited and made his position know to the committee rather than say in public”,
“The government should have sacked him from the committee immediately after those remarks, I feel he should be taken out”,
“He doesn’t qualify to be a member of that committee because this shows that anything the committee says, he would come to reveal to the public and that makes him a wrong person to be on that team.
“The government must not hesitate to replace him. He must be taken out as soon as possible”, He added
Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah is on the committee with GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, Black Stars Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie, GFA Technical Director Oti Akenteng, GFA ExCo member Opoku Nti and the FA’s Protocol and International Relations Officer Alex Asante to search for the new coach for the Black Stars
