According to sources, Manchester United legend and former Valencia coach Gary Neville, Harry Redknapp and ex-Brazilian left-back Roberto Carlos had their CVs among the hundreds to the Ghana Football Association.
The Ghana FA opened applications for the job with a deadline of March 10.
The six-man Committee tasked for the search of Avram Grant’s successor met for the first time Monday to review the applications from various coaches interested in the job.
The Committee has Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi as Chairman with George Afriyie, Francis Oti Akenteng, Opoku Nti, Alex Asante and Emmanuel Owusu Ansah as members.
The appointment of the next Black Stars coach could come quite soon as starrsportsgh.com sources divulge the committee has resolved to begin interviewing some shortlisted applicants beginning next week.
The Ghana FA will have to consult the Sports Ministry over its choice and financial commitments to be borne in hiring and keeping the new coach throughout his contract.
Already, a member of the Ghana FA Executive Committee has indicated the country will not surpass the amounts spent on immediate-past Black Stars coach Avram Grant.
