Timothy Fosu-Mensah has become the latest youngster to commit his long-term future to Manchester United by agreeing on a new four-year contract with the club.
New manager Jose Mourinho was keen to wrap up a deal for the highly rated 18-year-old defender, who made his first team debut last season after joining from Ajax in 2014.
An announcement could be made as early as Friday as Fosu-Mensah – who is expected to serve as an understudy to Antonio Valencia at right-back this season – prepares to follow fellow academy graduates Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson by penning a new contract.
Others youngsters at Old Trafford have been less fortunate, though, with Mourinho having sold defenders Paddy McNair and Donald Love to Sunderland, who are also expected to sign winger Adnan Januzaj on loan.
United will listen to offers for strikers James Wilson and Will Keane and defender Tyler Blackett while midfielder Andreas Pereira is likely to go out on loan as part of Mourinho’s overhaul of the playing squad.
