Former Hearts of Oak Managing Director Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has welcomed the new CEO of the club Mark Noonan into the Phobian family and has called on all stakeholders to support the American to succeed.
Neil, who also served as the club’s Financial Controller and Chairman of the National Chapters Committee believes absolute support from the fans, playing body, technical team and the board at large is what the new CEO needs to succeed.
In a statement released by the former MD, he lauded the board for striving hard to get a new CEO for the club and confidently added that there is light ahead of the tunnel for the sinking Hearts of Oak brand.
Below is the full statement by Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe:
“A few days ago, Accra Hearts of Oak announced the appointment of Mr. Mark Noonan as Chief Executive Officer of the club.
Since his appointment and assumption of Office, I have observed some interesting perspectives being shared amongst Phobians. I hereby lend my small contribution to the conversation.
The appointment of Mark Noonan, on the strength of what I have read about him, should give hope to Phobians who desire to see an upturn in the club’s fortunes. Yes, he cannot do the job alone but with the support of all stakeholders, quality players and a Technical setup that works with determined focus, I believe Mark Noonan would be successful.
I commend the Board of Directors for taking this step and pray for its success. I urge all supporters to give Mr. Noonan full support as we all look forward to brighter times for Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak.
May the appointment of Mark Noonan mark the beginning of a brand new era for our darling club; Let us all join together to rekindle the “Never Say Die” spirit which has seen us surmount great challenges over the more than 100 years of our history as a club and which shall surely see us through our next 100 years.”
