Former Black Stars forward Prince Tagoe says there is no bad blood between him and Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan was reported to have questioned Gyan’s right as the captain of the Black Stars insisting that the Kayserispor forward was not fit to lead the team.
The former Hearts of Oak hitman’s assertion caused lots of controversy which also saw several the former Ghana Premier League goal king and Ghana’s top scorer attacking each other on the airwaves.
“There is no problem between Gyan and I. That was not what I said, I think I was misquoted, I didn’t say Gyan was not fit to be the Black Stars,” he said on KWESE Sports.
“What I said was the Black Stars captaincy is a transition, if Stephen Appiah is the captian and he is not there then the best person to take up the captain was Essien, in the absence of absence of Essien someone like Muntari can take it.
“Then Asamoah Gyan can also take it up when Muntari is not around, that is what I said but I didn’t mean Gyan was not fit to captain the team.
“He has been one of the longest serving Black Stars players and we all know his contribution to the team.”
