Football fans in the New Juaben Municipality are growing in confidence about the chances of the Black Stars, lifting the African Cup of Nations after 35 years.
The last time Ghana won the prestigious trophy was in 1982 in Libya.
Many in Koforidua say they are upbeat and are boldly predicting that the Black Stars would make it this time in Gabon.
Some of them, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) applauded, what they said was the team’s sublime performance.
The optimism comes ahead of the semi-final match between the Stars and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun.
The national senior team put up a splendid performance to beat DR Congo by 2-1 when the two sides clashed at the quarter finals stage.
Enoch Duah, a student conceded that the match against the Indomitable Lions would be tough, but he strongly believed Ghana would win.
This optimism is shared by Gabriel Antwi, a taxi driver, and Salifu Ibrahim, secondhand clothes dealer.
They said the Stars would overcome Cameroun and go ahead to lift the trophy.
