Sprinter Flings Owusu-Agyapong, will carry the Ghana flag during the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games which starts on Friday, August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Ghana Olympic Committee named Flings as flagbearer in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old sprinter qualified for the games in April. She will lead the team together with javelin thrower John Ampomah who has been named team’s captain.
Owusu-Agyapong, like the other 15 members of Team Ghana will be participating in her first Olympics in the 100m and 4x100m races.
She will take to the track on August 12 to participate in the women’s preliminary 100m race.
