Former Ghana FA spokesperson Randy Abbey has claimed FA boss Kwesi Nyanakyi has become an ‘Emperor General’ who has hijacked the association.
Abbey, a former member of the Executive Committee, has been relentless to get the incumbent booted out office after 13-year-old.
The power-play for the top job has reached a crescendo after George Afriyie was yanked out as the vice-president of the Ghana Football Association.
It appears Mr Afriyie is enjoying ringing endorsement from some of the former members of the Executive Committee members who have hatched a plan to oust the FIFA council member.
Mr Nyantakyi has declared on three occasions not to seek re-election but looks likely to make a U-turn due too incessant pressure from the ruling government and other stakeholders of the game.
The heat has bee turned on Mr Nyantakyi not to seek re-election over claims he has collapsed Ghana football.
And Heart of Lions owner Randy Abbey, who has been an avid critic of his former boss, claims he has built an empire that makes him untouchable.
“The first time he changed the law and him Emperor General. He has the exclusive right to choose who becomes his vice and he chose him [George Afriyie],” he told Asemapa FM
”He makes the decisions and no one challenges him. He has become the Emperor General but we need a new face to take Ghana football to another level.”
