Management of Ghana Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs are set to name current technical director of the club, Kim Grant as their substantive coach following the departure of former coach Prosper Nartey.
Nartey, a University lecturer took over from veteran JE Sarpong and guided the team to a 12th place finish last season.
The University of Cape Coast lecturer has opted not to continue his reign at the club to pursue his P. H.D program hence the need to quickly name his successor ahead of the upcoming season.
Footballghana.com understands that the club is on the verge of removing all coaching staff under ex-coach Nartey before the announcement of Kim Grant is made public.
The former Charlton Athletic star has been with Dwarfs on a one year deal as technical director and managed to revive the team together with then head coach Nartey.
During his supervision last term, the team managed to thump Kotoko at home and also made impressive runs having started the season on a bad note.
Kim Grant who happens to be the Sporting director of Kim Grant International Football Academy http://www.kg-ifa.com, introduced many regimes at the club including cool water recovering as part of the team’s quick recovery plan with players taking to the swimming pool to relax muscles ahead of big games among others.
He also rebranded the clubs logo and image as well as develop their first ever official website www.ebusuadwarfsfc.com with over 6,000 views plus the team’s active twitter handle which also has over 6,500 followers.
Due to his positive impact at the club during his tenure as technical director, management has decided to hand him the head coach job to allow his fine hand print last longer on the team as they seek to do better in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The 44-year-old Kim Grant played 333 club games and score 68 goals for teams like Charlton Athletic, Luton Town,Millwall F.C, Yeovil Town and others.
He also played seven times for Ghana with four goals to his credit.
