Italian-born Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Sabbi has reached an agreement to sign for Spanish La Liga side UD Las Palmas, Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm.
The duration of the contract is yet to be public, but sources close to the Spanish outfit indicate that the talented forward has signed for three years.
Sabbi, 18, was on the radar of many MLS clubs, but the young attacking midfielder chose to sign for the Spanish outfit.
Born to Ghanaian parents, young Emmanuel began his promising football career in Italy before moving to the United States where he has since played for their U20 side.
Sabbi has played for the U. S U20 national team and is expected to employ his youthfulness to transform the Spanish side.
He becomes the third Ghanaian player in history to play for the Spanish side after Mubarak Wakaso and Kevin Prince Boateng.
Francis Sabbi, father of Emmanuel, who is a great fan of the Ghana Premier League, says he is delighted the young player has signed for Las Palmas.
The young Ghanaian is yet to play for the senior national team of the U.S, and that makes him eligible to play for Ghana if the Ghana FA makes any approach.
UD Las Palmas opened the 2016/17 La Liga season on August 22nd with a 4-2 win over Valencia.
