Elmina Sharks FC have announced the signing of seven new players ahead of the 2017/18 coming season.
The players are former Aduana Stars midfielder, Richard Mpong, Ofoe Ofotsu and Benjamin Arthur, formerly of Great Olympics, Mohammed Tanko from Aduana Stars, Sampson Eduku formerly of Karela United, and Emmanuel Essuman and Theophilus Adom.
The new players are expected to bring their top flight experience to help the team achieve their top four ambition.
“All necessary contractual agreement has been signed with the new players. We believe with their quality, they will help us achieve our goal of either being in the top four or winning the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League” said Deputy General Manager, Kelvin Aboagye Yeboah.
The team has also extended the contract of ten players they retained. They are Daniel Obeng Crenstil, Samuel Arthur, Emmanuel Ampiah, Joseph Essam, Joshua Opoku, Isaac Quainoo, Issac Mensah, Suraj Ibrahim and Eric Osei.
Recuperating Ebenezer Coleman, who underwent a surgery last year, has also had a one-year contract extension. Elmina Sharks Management say, they believe the renewal will psychologically boost Coleman’s recovery process.
