Newly promoted Eleven Wonders FC will be honouring their first ever Ghanaian top-flight match on Sunday at the Nana Ameyaw Park as they host giants Hearts of Oak.
The Techiman based outfit won the Division One league zone one last season to secure their premiership status.
They need to overcome the Phobians this weekend if they mean to break a three seasons jinx.
All teams from zone one of the Division One promoted to the top-flight have been relegated same season since the 2014/2015 season with one of them from Techiman.
The Wonder Club have also gained some confidence ahead of the season as they made it to the final of the GFA Gala competition.
With about 16 new signings, Alex Asamoah, Alfred Opoku, Kwadwo Amoako, Seth Kweku Osei, Emmanuel Kwamena Quainoo, Salifu Cisse and John Moosie are likely to make their debuts on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak have in mind their league title drought in about ten years when they make the journey to the Brong Ahafo to take on the Ghana Premier League newbies.
It is 2009 the Phobians last won the premier league, they closest have come is finishing 3rd on the log in all these seasons.
They finished last season’s campaign on the 3rd position again.
Scotsman Frank Elliot Nuttal has been relieved of his post as the head coach of the Phobians.
His assistant Henry Wellington has been task in the interim to take charge of the team. He is expected to be a dugout on Sunday in Techiman.
The Rainbow outfit will be without last season’s top performer Thomas Abbey. He has joined Ismaily SC in Egypt.
Joseph Esso, Christopher Bonney, Evans Quao, Benjamin Agyare and Benjamin Afutu Kotey are the new boys likely to make their debuts on the weekend if chosen by the coach.
