Egypt legend Essam El Hadary has issued an apology to everyone at Wadi Degla SC after the latest row between him and Khalid Walid on Wednesday.
The 44-year-old goalkeeper was excluded from the squad list which faced Al Ahly after reportedly slapping teammate and third-choice goalkeeper Khaled Walid, which made the latter start against the Red Devils.
Wadi Degla also transfer-listed Essam El-Hadary after the club chairman, Maged Semy, announced on his personal page on Facebook that the goalkeeper is for sale to any MLS or Scandinavian club.
“I am very sad because many people spread false news about the situation,’’ El-Hadary told ON Sports channel.
“Wadi Degla is a club which does not let things like these happen inside the team. Maged Samy always ends any problems immediately.
“I apologise to everyone at Wadi Degla, Mido, coaching staff and my team-mates. Mido is my friend before being my manager at the club, I respect him very much even if he is younger than me.
“During my phone call with Maged Samy, I also apologized to him immediately. I am not angry about his Facebook post regarding transfer-listing me as well,’’ he concluded.
The 44-year-old has made 15 appearances for Wadi Degla this season, conceding 18 goals and keeping 6 clean sheets.
