Egypt players and fans broke into wild celebrations after beating main rivals Ghana 2-0 on Sunday night in Alexandria.
Veteran goalkeeper and captain Essam El-Hadary led the celebrations on the pitch of the Borg El-Arab Stadium.
The Pharaohs were clinical upfront and needed goals from Mohammed Salah, a 43rd minute penalty, and a fine finish from Abdallah Saied on 86 minutes to bag the points.
Egypt are now in firm control of Group E with two straight wins and inching closer to a first World Cup appearance since 1990.
