The current Commonwealth Bantamweight Champion, Duke “The Baby Face Terminator” Micah, is confident of defeating his Mexican boxer Jonathan Aguilar at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra on March 11.
In an interview with the media, the highly rated youngster stated, that his prime objective was to win a world title for the country and make Ghana boxing great again.
“I am the new face of Ghana boxing, I refuse to lose as a boxer, and I am always going to be a champion, that’s my job. I am promising all Ghanaians that a world title is coming to Ghana soon very soon. Duke Micah is definitely going to make Ghana proud.
“I am going to beat Jonathan Aguilar, no matter what he does, he cannot stop me in any way. All I need is support and prayers because nothing good comes easily.
“I believe in my team and everyone supporting Duke Micah, as I said earlier, I am going to beat this guy – Jonathan, I want this message to reach him, will beat him very well.
“I am going to give my all for this bout, I can’t disappoint Ghana on her birthday, I want to make the nation proud and dedicate this title to all my supporters.
“I want to help the game we all love and push it higher to the level it was in the past. That is my dream. Unfortunately, people are involving themselves in football now more than boxing and I want to change that and achieve something in boxing for the country.
“This bout is going to be a good experience for me, I am very calm and ready for the day, be it physical, spiritual or whatever. I am not scared of anything and I am patiently waiting for the opponent to come. Nobody should be worried because I am going to win convincingly.
“I am going to be a world champion, I knew this even before I was born, this is my job and I urge all Ghanaians to troop in to the Bukom Boxing Arena on March 11, to watch me win the title and present it to them.
