The Ministry of Youth and Sports have appointed the head of the Sports Directorate of the University of Ghana, Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah as a member of the Six-member Committee mandated to search for the new coach for the Black Stars.
The Ghana FA announced five members of the committee a fortnight ago indicating one person will be appointed by the Sports Ministry to add up to the number.
Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah will join GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, Black Stars Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie, GFA Technical Director Oti Akenteng, GFA ExCo member Opoku Nti and the FA’s Protocol and International Relations Officer Alex Asante to search for the new coach for the Black Stars.
The PRO of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Elvis Adjei-Baah confirmed to Happy FM in Accra.
“The GFA informed us to appoint a member to join the committee to look for the new Black Stars coach and we have appointed Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah to serve on the committee,” he said.
Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, born in Kumasi, attained his academic and professional qualifications in Sport Science, Sports Coaching and Sports Management in Brazil, Germany, Italy, Poland and Switzerland.
He has also held the positions of National Chief Athletic Coach, Chief Sports Development Officer, Acting Chief Executive of the National Sports Council and Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Currently he is the head of the Sports Directorate at the University of Ghana and holds a Master of Science and Doctorate Degree in Physical education and Sports and an Executive Masters in Sports Management Organisation.
