Black Stars management committee chairman, George Afriyie has suggested that it will be naïve to put all of the problems in Ghana football on the doorsteps of GFA capo, Kwesi Nyantakyi; at least not when the economic conditions in the nation have had their toll.
Sections in the local media have called for the head of the GFA boss after the Black Stars’ latest fiasco in Gabon, but the Okyeman Planers FC boss speaking to Nhyria FM in Kumasi has intimated that there is more to the problems than the GFA boss.
“It is difficult to attract sponsorship under this hard economy and those calling that he (Kwesi Nyantakyi) should be forced out of office should be mindful of the repercussions because even after the FIFA ban, he had to be reinstated before Ghana will be accepted back into FIFA.
Kwesi Nyantakyi’s term as GFA boss ends in 2019 where congress will be expected to be called to name a new President.
However, a section in the local media have expressed disdain with the direction of Ghana football under his tutelage and it will be interesting how the next few months pan out especially with the 2016/2017 league season set to commence this weekend.
