Godfred Donsah’s Bologna lost 1-0 to Fiorentina at home on Saturday to continue their winless streak in Serie A.
Nikola Kalinic scored from the penalty spot on 31 minutes moments after defender Daniele Gastaldello was sent off by the referee.
Donsah was left on the bench by coach Roberto Donadoni as he missed an opportunity to add to his two appearances in the season thus far.
Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar came off the bench to help Bologna’s cause but they could not cancel the deficit. It was the 19-year-old’s fourth appearance from the bench this season.
Tunisian midfielder Saphir Sliti Taïder and Senegalese defender Ibrahima Mbaye both started for the hosts in the game.
The defeat saw Bologna drop to 15th spot with 13 points, safe from relegation waters for the moment but they would need to find their form in order to return to good times.
The win took Fiorentina to sixth position with 16 points.
