Ghana’s Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe (16-0, 10 KOs) returns for a first defence of his WBO International Super Bantamweight championship against also undefeated Claudio Fernando Echegaray of Argentina (17-0-1, 9 KOs) on July 22 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
Dogboe won the title via a round 7 technical knockout of another Argentine, Julian Evaristo Aristule in Auckland, New Zealand back in December last year.
The 22 year old Ghanaian star, currently rated number 6 to the WBO world title held by Jessie Magdaleno was in the news as a possible opponent against the American but will have to now take on Echegaray in front of his own countrymen in July whilst waiting for his world title opportunity.
Dogboe, trained by his dad, Paul will be fighting for the first time at the Bukom Boxing Arena and has promised to put up a show for his large army of fans who show up for the bill codenamed ‘Battle of the Rising Stars’ put together by Rising Star Africa Promotions.
Other mouthwatering bouts are promised to feature on the undercard which will be announced in due course.
