Crocked Ghanaian attacker Andre Ayew has urged the Black Stars to defeat their counterparts from Uganda in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The West Ham United star has been ruled out of Friday’s game due to injury.
The 26-year-old has arrived in the country to support his teammates in the crucial tie on Friday.
Ayew is backing his colleagues to start off their World Cup qualifiers with a victory over a tough-talking Ugandan side.
“It is a game we must win. We have no choice, but we need the support from Ghanaians. Without their support I don’t think we can get the result we want,” he said during an interaction with some football fans at the Betway Soccer Clinic in Accra on Wednesday.
“Is unfortunate I won’t be available but my heart is with the team and I believe they can win for all Ghanaians on Friday.”
“Uganda is a very strong side, they defeated us the last time we met them so we have to do all our best to avenge that defeat by winning against them.”
A win over Uganda will serve as a huge boost before next month’s qualifier against Egypt.
