Former Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics, David Duncan was underwhelmed that he was voted as the worst coach of the season in the Happy FM’s Golden Bin Awards.
David Duncan was the head coach of Asante Kotoko at the start of last season, but after a string of bad results in the first six matches, the club’s board booted him out and appointed his assistant Michael Osei in his stead for the remainder of the season.
And in the maiden edition of Happy FM’s initiative of awarding stakeholders of the Ghana Premier League who failed to impress in the season gone by, David Duncan was voted by keen followers of the league.
Nevertheless, the outspoken David Duncan believes the criteria used in the voting scheme is unjust, but will accept the decision of the fans.
“If you could use only six matches to judge someone, i believe it’s a bit unfair because there are coaches who finished the league and did not deliver,” he told Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo sports.
“However, once it’s in the right of the callers to vote me as the worst caoch of the season, i will not contest the verdict.”
In his absence, Michael Osei steered the club to a fifth place finish in the 2016 GPL season.
