Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association Winfred Osei Palmer agrees with SWAG president assertion that corruption is a canker in Ghanaian football.
Speaking at the 42nd edition of the annual SWAG Awards ,Kwabena Yeboah expressed worry over how football in the country had been saddled with corruption lately.
According to him,corruption has reduced the integrity of football in the country and needs to be looked at urgently raising a debate with in the football fraternity .
Some football Administrator in the country especially,Former FA EXCO member MNS Doe has Debunked the issue of corruption in the game lambasting the SWAG boss for coming out publicly.
The minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, says the country needs to be serious in fighting corruption in the sports sector.
Former Ghana football legend Anthony Yeboah says he has no immediate plans to return to football administration after being frustrated out of football a few years ago due to alleged underhand dealings by referees whom he accused of undermining his team’s effort in the second-tier league.
Mr Osei Palmer in an interview has bemoaned the high rate at which corruption is gaining prominence in Ghanaian football.
“Kwabena Yeboah’s comments on corruption in Ghana football was a statement of fact ,”Osei Parma told Nhyira FM.
“The GFA looks helpless when it comes to corruption in Ghana Football.”
In recent development,Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey was ban for life by FIFA “manipulating” a World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Senegal in November last year.
