AshantiGold coach Charles Akunnor has expressed his excitement over working with John Christensen at the club.
As part of the new investors determination to return the Miners to their glory days, there’s been a host of changes at the technical level of the club.
One of the significant changes was the appointment of Danish coach John Christensen as the technical director of the club ahead of the coming campaign.
And during an interview with Kumasi-based radio station FM, Coach Akunnor welcomed the Danish trainer and insisted that having studied his leadership last week, he would no problem working with in the forthcoming season.
“After working with him for a week, I have no problems to work with him; he confessed he knows about me when I played in Germany. He is my boss and that’s okay,” Akunnor stated on Oyerepa FM.
“We will work together to bring AshantiGold to where it belongs, where the team has been setting the pace and standards.”
Meanwhile, C. K Akunnor declared that he’s yet to officially commit to the club but says he’s calm about the situation after he was assured by Nana Adu Abankoro Acheampong ‘Achiken’ [one of the investors] that his future will be sorted out in the coming days.
AshantiGold will welcome Wa All Stars to the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the opening day of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, March 18.
