English Premier League champions Chelsea have cancelled Ghanaian midfielder Christian Atsu’s loan deal with AFC Bournemouth.
Atsu has endured a torrid season at the Cherries this season, featuring in just two League Cup games and none at all in the EPL. The player chances of a run in the team have also been ruined by recurring injuries.
Bournemouth who are currently 16th in the EPL, confirmed that Atsu had been recalled by Chelsea after they announced that a deal had been completed for Roma forward Juan Iturbe.
Atsu joined newcomers Bournemouth on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window after spending an equally frustrating season at Everton.
It remains to be seen whether he will be given first-team opportunities at the Blues who themselves have had a disappointing first half of the season, or whether he will be shipped off again.
