Wa All Stars Football Club still have a chance to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Champions League despite suffering a humiliating defeat to Al-Ahli Tripoli, Hafiz Adams, captain of the side, has said.
The first leg encounter was Wa All Stars’ maiden participation in Africa’s club competition.
The Wa-based club have been forced to play their home games at the Tamale Sports Stadium and found the going tough after they lost 1-3 at home.
The Libyan side proved very strong in the first five minutes of the game with Ali Tango getting the first chance of the game. That was a sign of things to come, with Muaid Ellafi getting the first goal of the game in the 21st minute.
“It’s not over because anything can happen. As far as they were able to beat us in Ghana, we can also beat them there. We were beaten at home and now we are eager to beat them there too. It’s never over for Wa All Stars; we are still in it,” Adams told Class FM Sports on Sunday February 12.
