Following their tournament success, the African champions have climbed 29 spots higher in the list but the top 10 remains largely unchanged
Cameroon’s victorious Africa Cup of Nations campaign has seen them climb 29 places in the latest FIFA ranking update.
The Indomitable Lions, who won the continental tournament on February 5 by defeating Egypt in the final, now occupy 33rd place, just ahead of Austria and behind Iran.
Conquered finalists Egypt, meanwhile, have dislodged the Republic of Ireland in 23rd position after climbing 12 places. Tournament hosts Gabon also enjoyed a considerable rise, moving up 21 places to 87th.
There was only one change in the top 10 as France leapfrogged Colombia into sixth place, with Argentina continuing to lead the way at the summit, followed closely by Brazil in second and Germany in third.
Wales and England remain unchanged in 12th and 13th, respectively, but Italy have moved up one place to 15th.
The next FIFA ranking update will be announced on March 9.
