Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Elvis Agyei Baah has revealed the terms of bonus payment his outfit agreed with the Black Princesses before they embarked on the 2016 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
The Princesses are on the brink of elimination from the tournament after failure to record victory in any of their two games so far, where they lost to New Zealand in the opening fixture before they painfully drew 2-2 with in the second match.
However, the sports ministry’s spokesperson disclosed the terms of an agreement they had with them before they left the country.
“We agreed that this time round, we wouldn’t give bonus per match but rather qualification bonus. It will be $2,000 per match in the preliminary stage, and they agreed,” Elvis Agyei Baah exclusively told Football Ghana.com
“If happens that they progress to next stage, each player will be entitled to pocket $6,000.”
They will take on USA in the final group game on Monday at PNG Football stadium in Port Moresby.
