Ahead of their Premier League opening game of Monday against Inter Allies, Ghana football giants Accra Hearts of Oak spent their Sunday morning at the Perez Dome, Dzorwulu to seek God’s divine favour and blessings.
Players and technical team members of the club were led by some management members to worship with Bishop Charles Agyin Asare before the league kicks-off for them on Monday.
Visiting the Perez Dome before any major assignment of the club has become common and they couldn’t find any better day to present themselves before the Lord than today.
Speaking at the church service, team manager of the club, Nii Sabahn Quaye admitted that visiting the Perez Dome before the start of last season’s Premier League saw them leap from a shameful 13th place the previous season to a more respectable 3rd place with the hope that their visit this year sees them scooping the Ghana Premier League title this term.
“It’s a pleasure for us to be here once again to present ourselves before the Lord. Last year, we came here before the start of the season and we leaped from 13th position the previous season to 3rd place last season. We hope that our being here today, coupled with hard work will see us win the title this season.” Sabahn Quaye reckoned.
Bishop Agyin Asare led the congregation in offering special prayers for the Phobians.
Aside the players and technical team, Administrative Manager Hackman Aidoo and president of the Women supporters wing, Vicentia Doku also accompanied the team.
Hearts of Oak will lock horns with Inter Allies on Monday at the El-Wak stadium for their season opener.
