Tema Youth head coach Edward Odoom has pointed to referees in Ghana as the possible causes of the death of the local game.
Odoom explained that the poor performances of certain referees would kill interest in Ghanaian football and major actors would walk away from the league.
His comments came after Tema Youth lost 1-0 away to Bechem United on Wednesday in the Ghana Premier League in which Tema Youth player Malik Antiri was shown a red card in the 95th minute of the game.
“If officiating does not change, Ghana football will go nowhere. If things do not improve, some of us will quit the game and walk away.”
The match was rescheduled due to Bechem United’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.
