After scoring his fourth goal in his last eight league games, West Ham United attacker Andre Ayew says he is on his way to hitting top form.
The Ghanaian joined the Hammers in a club record deal in summer last year after scoring 12 goals in 34 league appearances for Swansea City last season.
His early days at the London Stadium, however, did not go as planned due to a thigh injury, which sidelined him for almost three months.
“I think I’m getting there,” Ayew told his club’s official website.
“I have said it before, I’m getting there. I know my quality and I’m working hard and my teammates are giving me a lot of confidence.
“They have a lot of trust in me. I am trying to do my best at the moment.”
Ayew’s goal was, however, not enough to win West Ham all three points following a 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
Indeed, it has been nothing but a topsy turvy run for the Hammers, who currently sit 13th on the table.
“I think this season has been difficult in many ways,” Ayew said.
“We just need to work hard to gain confidence and when we’re leading, we went back too much and don’t go forward.
“It happens when you haven’t got the results you have wanted.
“I know we will solve this problem before the end of the season.”
West Ham host Everton on match day 34 on Saturday, with Ayew in line to make his 21st Premier League outing for Slaven Bilic’s outfit.
