Premier League giants Asante Kotoko are set to name Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin as Steve Polack’s replacement ahead of the coming campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors relieved the Engilsh trainer off his duty on Thursday following their poor showing in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they were knocked out of the competition by Congolese side CARA Club in the first stage of the preliminary round.
The former Berekum Chelsea gaffer leaves after less than six months into the job after leading the club to MTN FA Cup glory where they beat bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak 3-1 in final.
The 57-year-old is set to be replaced with Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin following reports that the club’s hierarchy met with the former Ghana U-17 coach on Friday morning to finalize the deal.
He is expected to be confirmed as coach of the side before Saturday.
Fabin led the Black Starlets to win Bronze at the 2017 Africa Youth Championship in Fabin before guiding them to a quarter final place finish at the FIFA World Cup in India.
