Asante Kotoko coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has expressed his satisfaction with his team’s display against WAFA in the opening fixture of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League at the Sogakofe Red bulls Arena.
WAFA needed just three minutes to break the deadlock when prodigy Aminu Mohammed fired home a free-kick from the edge of the box.
However, the Porcupine Warriors replied in the 18th minute when Yakubu Mohammed fortuitously directed Jordan Opoku’s short into the net to help the Porcupine Warriors snatch a point.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Coach Fabin believed the result was the true reflection of the game but insisted his charges could have carried the day had they been fluent in attack.
“It was a very good game. WAFA still have a very good team, they played well but we came up with a strategy to leave here with the three points.
“Even though we drew we are happy with the result, we’ll go back to the drawing board and work harder to win our subsequent games.”
“Fortunately for me I’ve not lost a game here before. I led inter Allies to draw here and also Berekum Arsenal, so when I was coming here I was very confident we’re going to take the three points. Our attack was a little bit slow and that cost us the win.”
