Kotoko coach Zdravko Logarusic is feeling the heat after disgruntled fans stormed the team’s training ground less than 24 hours after their 2-1 defeat at Medeama – leaving the Croatian trainer petrified in his car.
The infuriated fans are seeking to prevent the Croat from supervising the team’s recovery session and eventually force him out of the club, Kumasi-based Nhyira FM are reporting.
Many feel the club has stagnated under Logarusic despite guiding them to third on the Premier League table.
Fans are protesting at the Adacko Jachie training ground with others shouting abuse from the terraces.
Pressure has mounted in recent weeks after Kotoko’s unflattering results which has seen them pick just a point from a possible nine.
Fans of the Porcupine Warriors have consistently questioned the tactics of the coach and appears the painful 2-1 defeat at Medeama has broken the camels back.
They are seeking to force him out of the club as the top brass appear impotent amid fear of violence.
Kotoko chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has spent millions of cedis to bring in high-profile players but the Kumasi-based side has failed to tick.
Expectations are beginning to fizzle out after they failed to beat Inter Allies at home last Sunday which followed their 2-1 defeat at Medeama in midweek.
The Ghanaian giants also lost 1-0 to rivals Hearts of Oak in Accra two weeks ago which has angered their teeming supporters.
They claim the coach lack the competence and gravitas to manage the two-time African champions.
It now appears the Croat must quit or he will be forced to jump ship.
